50 Cent50 Cent has finally set a release date for his fifth album.

The "Candy Shop" star will release the long delayed Five (Murder By Numbers) on July 3.

The rapper said part of the reason for the long delay - almost three years since his last album Before I Self Destruct - is because he has taken time to perfect each track: "I said I was gonna put a record out that was completely up to album standard, and I'm gonna do that. I worked on this album for a long time. It's been three years."

50 - real name Curtis Jackson - added his turbulent relationship with Interscope records has been part of delays to the record, which was originally to be titled Black Magic. 50 threatened to leak the entire album in full in January, and shortly afterward one song "Girls Go Wild," appeared on the internet, but 50 has since made up with his record company.

Alice CooperLady Gaga has given her seal of approval to Alice Cooper's version of "Born This Way."

Shock rock legend Alice has recently started playing his own heavy version of the "Bad Romance" singer's track live, and said she was impressed when she heard it.

"Gaga loved it, she emailed us - she's in Australia right now - and said she loved it, I just thought it was such a great track, and the lyrics, 'My momma told me when I was young / she did my hair and put my lipstick on,' for Alice Cooper to sing that, it's funny," Alice said.

The "Under My Wheels" singer also explained he prepared the song especially to appeal to the young crowd at last weekend's Bonnaroo festival: "We figured 15 to 25 was probably the average age out there, and I was thinking of a song that would be of their generation, so I said, 'What about "Born This Way"?' Because that song could be a rock song, it just needed a different attitude."

Billy CorganBilly Corgan has lashed out at Radiohead.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has blasted the Oxford band as "pompous" and says he is horrified that some people think Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore.

"I can't think of any people outside of Weird Al Yankovic who have both embraced and p****d on rock more than I have. Obviously there's a level of reverence, but there's also a level of intelligence to even know what to p**s on. Because I'm not p***ing on Rainbow. I'm not p***ing on Deep Purple. But I'll p**s on f*****g Radiohead, because of all this pomposity. This value system that says Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Ritchie Blackmore. Not in the world I grew up in."

The StrokesThe Strokes have started work on their next album.

The New York band are in the studio in New York working on the follow up to last years Angles, with producer Gus Oberg. Gus worked on some of the tracks on Angles - which was largely self produced - and has previously worked with guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. on his solo material.

The "Hard to Explain" band - which also includes Nick Valensi, Fabrizio Moretti, Julian Casablancas and Nikolai Fraiture - have previously said they wanted to record a quick follow up to their fourth album. "We have songs that you can tell are gonna be good ones that we're all excited to play," Albert said.

The group took a long break between third album First Impressions of Earth in 2006 and Angles and Nikolai admitted there was a strange feeling when they first met up to record . "When you get back together there was a lot of weird energy flowing around. There are different dynamics in the group in different ways," he said.

The "Don't Speak" hitmakers will release the long-awaited LP - their first since 2001's Rock Steady in September, and it will be preceded by the single "Settle Down" on July 16.

"Hope you are sitting down because we've got some really big news to share with you! While adding the finishing touches to our new album we realized it was time to name it, so we did, and the name is Push and Shove. No Doubt's new album Push and Shove will be released on September 25, 2012. The first single 'Settle Down' will debut on July 16, 2012. The music video for 'Settle Down' will premiere in early July. The video will be directed by Sophie Muller who has helmed many of No Doubt's music videos including 'Don't Speak,' 'Underneath It All,' 'Sunday Morning' and 'Simple Kind of Life,'" the band announced, writing on their official website.

The band had originally planned to release the album last year but announced in September that they had pushed it back so they could "make sure it's the best album we can possibly make."

UsherUsher can't wait to get "up close and personal" with his fans tonight.

The "OMG" hitmaker will launch his new album Looking 4 Myself at the Hammersmith Apollo with a concert which will be streamed live around the world on his YouTube Vevo channel as part of the American Express Unstaged series and Usher is excited about the experience.

"The American Express Unstaged show is my chance to be a little bit modern and also to get up close and personal with the fans, which is something I don't get in a stadium or arena. Things are changing with the way we discover and develop talent and this is just another way to bring fans closer to the music and the artist. It's art in motion but also something that I think the fans will really get a kick out of."

The livestream from London will be directed by Hamish Hamilton and Usher is thrilled to be working with the filmmaker: "Working with Hamish has always been a pleasure, he's someone I really respect and he really gets me as an artist. Having the ability to stream my performance live allows me to be connected to the entire world, it's kind of like modern thinking but classic at the same time."

The "Born This Way" singer was performing her hit song "Judas" at the concert in Auckland when a dancer accidentally hit her on the head with a pole which was being used as a stage prop.

However, Gaga carried on with the show as she didn't want to let her fans down: "I want to apologize. I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion but don't you worry I will finish this show."

She went on to sing 16 more songs and her make-up artist Tara Savelo was very impressed she managed to carry on. "GaGa has a concussion but she is going to be okay. She wants u to know she loves u. I'm taking care of her. cant believe she finished the show. (sic)" she wrote on her Twitter.

SlashSlash insists calling him a guitar master is "bulls**t."

The former Guns N' Roses star is renowned for his musicianship but he insists it is down to hard work, rather than natural expertise and he can always improve his skills.

"That whole guitar master stuff, that's bulls**t - I have been working and working on it, and it will never end. It's a work in progress, but I have a great time doing it," he said.

Slash - who picked up the Icon Award at the Kerrang! Awards in London - loves performing live and says he has more fun doing so as he is getting older because he is a much more accomplished musician: "Live is predominantly what I got into this for. I love to write songs and I love recording them, but its all a means to an end and that is performing live. Playing live now, when it comes down to it not much has changed over the last 20 years, but I'm a little bit more coherent these days, and I'm a little bit of a better guitar player, so I guess it's a little more fun."

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood triumphed at the Country Music Television (CMT) Awards last night.

The former American Idol winner later Tweeted about her wins, writing, "Thank you so much! These #CMTawards belong to all of us! What an amazing night! (sic)"

Other stars to triumph at the event, held in Nashville, Tennessee, included Miranda Lambert, who took home Female Video of the Year for "Over You" and Luke Bryan, whose track "I Don't Want This Night to End" was named Male Video of the Year.

The awards were attended by a host of country stars, including Hank Williams Jr. and Toby Keith - who co-hosted the show with actress Kristen Bell - as well as President Barack Obama.
